Our office has always followed strict infection control standards and keep us all protected we have implemented more protocols. When we see you at your next appointment, things will be a little different. Some of the changes include:
- Shortly after booking your appointment we will ask some screening questions via an online form. You will be asked those same questions again within 24 hours of your appointment along with having your temperature taken with a hands-free thermometer once you arrive at our office.
- You may be asked to wait outside our office or in your car and call us when you arrive receive guidance on when you can enter the office.
- We will ask that you enter our office alone (except in the case of a patient who is a young child or requires accommodation) wearing a mask which covers your mouth and nose.
- We will provide hand sanitizer that we will ask you to use when you enter the clinic. There are more dispensers around the office for you to use as needed.
- Our waiting room will no longer offer magazines or children’s toys since those items are difficult to fully disinfect.
- Our patient bathroom is closed. (There is a public bathroom down the hall from our office)
- Appointments will be spaced out to allow for physical distancing between patients. That might mean less flexibility for scheduling your appointment, but it will also reduce the number of patients in the reception area at any one time.
- You may be surprised that we are wearing more protective gear – such as masks, face shields, gowns – than we normally do during your visit.
- You may be asked to rinse with an anti-microbial solution (1% hydrogen peroxide) prior to each procedure
- We would prefer that you pay by touchless payment, such as credit card or Interac
Rest assured, all these procedures are designed to create the safest environment for you, other patients and our team. The genuine care you have come to expect at our office will remain the same as before, just packaged a little differently.
