The Canadian Dental Care Plan

For the health and well being of our patients, Stouffville Family Dentistry recommends dental treatment based on patient clinical needs, not based on what is or what is not covered by their insurance.

The Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) targets individuals with a household income of less than $90,000. The CDCP provides support for essential dental services and promotes preventive oral health practices.

Co-payments Are Required

A co-payment is the percentage of the CDCP fees that are not covered that you may have to pay directly to Stouffville Family Dentistry. You will pay the difference between the CDCP coverage and the cost of treatment at our office in addition to the co-payment if:

  • the cost of your oral health care services is more than what the CDCP will reimburse for.
  • you agree to services that the CDCP doesn’t cover.

Before receiving oral health care, speak to us about any fees that won’t be covered by the plan.

Renew Your Plan!

You can renew your coverage each year after you have filed your tax return and received the notice of assessment from the Canada Revenue Agency; this will confirm that you continue to meet all eligibility requirements. You can also contact the Government of Canada at contact us and use the automated phone service to ask any questions you may have.
